Transform Your Shower Routine Into A Ritual of Renewal (1)

Who says you need to take a bath to feel refreshed and renewed? The tips in this post will help you to transform your ordinary shower routine into a rejuvenating shower ritual.

Why Make Your Shower A Ritual?

In the typical craziness and rush of our everyday lives, our shower time often becomes a hurried routine, just another task to check off the list. But what if we could turn this mundane activity into a sacred ritual— a moment of renewal and rejuvenation for our body, mind, and soul?In this post, we’ll explore simple ways you can make this happen right from your own bathroom.

It’s amazing how a simple shift in mindsetand intention can elevate your showers from a boring task to a time of profound relaxation, self-reflection, and inner renewal.

The tips below will help you unlock the untapped potential of your showers, connect with your soul, and embrace a truly transformative experience that will leave you feeling refreshed, replenished, and ready to face the world with fresh new energy.

The Power Of The Water Element

Water is innately cleansing. We use it to clean our physical bodies, and we can harness its power to cleanse our energetic bodies as well. We all have energy within us and around us.

Connecting with the water element is an amazing way to transform your shower time into a ritual. Think about how water actually cleans things? If you have dirt on you, you use water to wash it away. You can do the same for any energy you want to clear. The water can ‘wash away’ what is no longer serving you.

Water is also a very fluid element. We don’t want our energy to be stuck and motionless, we want it to be fluid and flowing; water can help with this.

Why Do We Need To Cleanse Our Energy?

Well for one, most of us aren’t positive 24/7. Sometimes we have a rough day which can build up either negative energy or make our energy can become sort of stagnant.

Secondly, we may have more negative type energy around us just from interacting with other people or places etc. Either way, taking the time to cleanse our energy can be really helpful at helping us feel more clear-headed, calm, healthy, and peaceful.

There are many ways you can do this and it doesn’t need to be anything extravagant. Using the water element while you shower is a simple easy way to energetically cleanse.

An Eco-Friendly Note

I’m an extremely eco-conscious person and the tips below that I’m sharing with you are ways you can craft your shower routine into a ritual. By “craft,” I mean making small but impactful adjustments to what you’re already doing—cleaning in the shower.

These tips really shouldn’t add much time onto how long it already takes you to shower. They are things you can do before your start your shower or they are mindset shifts you can do while showering so really, not much more water should be used by making your shower a ritual.

I’m not encouraging super long showers and wasteful use of water, just ways we can make this task we already do more sacred.

7 Tips To Help You Create Your Own Shower Ritual

1. Use the water element to energetically cleanse yourself.

Out of all the tips I’m sharing with you, this one is my personal favorite. I do sometimes cleanse my energy in other ways, but this is such a simple yet powerful way to cleanse.

AND it’s time efficient because you’re already washing your body. All you have to do is place your intention on cleansing your energy while you wash your body (and if it’s a hair washing day on washing your hair).

When you use the water to rinse off the soap from your body or shampoo from your hair, imagine that you’re cleansing away any negative or stagnant/stale energy. Once the soap is washed away, feel into how your energy feels refreshed and renewed.

This doesn’t waste any additional water which is wonderful and it really is such a beautiful ritual that you can simply do while you’re already washing.

I hope you love this one as much as I do.

2. Use a body scrub to nourish your skin.

This isn’t going to be something you do every shower, but when you do, it’s delightful. Most sources recommend using an exfoliating scrub only once a week or so. I personally probably only use mine like every other week.

This can make your skin feel so smooth and soft it’s bound to make your shower routine feel more like a ritual.

This is my absolute favorite body scrub and of course it’s EWG verified: Attitude Body Scrub Bar

I follow this up with something moisturizing for my skin after the shower.

Usually I use this dry body oil: Attitude Dry Body Oil

My skin feels so damn good after this, I highly recommend :)

3. Connect with the water element through gratitude.

You can use this tip if you want to do an energetic cleanse or not! This is a simple way to shift yourself to be in a space where you’re ready to be rejuvenated.

Water allows us to live so it deserves gratitude for that. But also, having a hot shower right in our home is a blessing! So often we forget these small blessings that we have so it’s nice to take the time to recognize them.

Start and end your shower by offering gratitude to the water in whatever way feels good for you.

4. Set an intention for your shower beyond just getting 'clean'.

What do you want to get out of your shower ritual?

Is it to cleanse and renew your energy? Is it to feel calm and peaceful?

Setting an intention for your shower is another simple way to make this mundane task a divine experience.

5. Make your bathroom environment more visually zen.

There are many ways you can do this and this is one of those tips that wastes no extra water because it’s all done before the shower goes on!

Dim lighting is a nice way to do this if you have the option in your bathroom. You can also do this by using candles. If you choose to use candles, please remember fire safety. Don’t place your candles somewhere that they could be knocked over! Battery operated candlescould also work.

Another idea to create a visually zen space is bring in some crystals that align with your intention. Just remember some crystals can’t get wet so make sure you either keep them out of the water or look up that information beforehand.

6. Bring in some relaxing sounds.

Playing some relaxing, zen music can also be a way to change up the environment.

Play something that makes you feel calm, relaxed, and connected with your soul. This can really make a shower feel like a spa experience.

If you don’t want to play music, you can just listen to the sound of the water. You’re probably like, “I always listen to the sound of the water while I shower,” but I mean, really listen and notice it. Remember the power in noticing the small things.

7. Stay mindful and present throughout your shower.

So often we rush through things we have to do to just check them off our list while thinking about what we need to do next. This mindset keeps us out of the present moment. To make your shower a ritual, you must be work on being present.

If your mind is thinking about what happened earlier or what you have to do later, you probably won’t feel rejuvenate after your shower. I know this can be challenging but it’s worth it to work on this!

While in the shower there are easy ways you can bring yourself back into the present moment.

  • Notice how the water feels on your skin.
  • Notice how it feels to wash your body.
  • Connect with your breathing.
  • Tune into the sound of the water running.

These are some suggestions that I hope you find helpful, but if you have other methods that work for bringing your mind back into the present moment, feel free to explore those as well.

Incorporating these ideas to transform your shower routine into a shower ritual not only will feel lovely in the moment, it can actually positively impact your overall well-being.

Embrace this opportunity cultivate a deep connection with yourself through connecting with water.

As you step out of the shower feeling refreshed and renewed, remember to carry this sense of tranquility and rejuvenation with you throughout your day.

Let your shower ritual be a reminder of the importance of self-care and the potential for renewal that lies within everyday moments.
